FAQ
What is the build process?
Our wheels are built by experienced wheel builders here in Kitchener, Ontario. They are laced, trued, tensioned and tested to spec using spoke tension meters which are calibrated often for superior accuracy. Every wheelset is double checked before being released to be sold. A wheelset is only as good as the build, so we make sure we can monitor every aspect of the process to ensure the highest quality. We use Sapim brass nipples (not alloy) and rim washers, which add a small amount of weight to the wheelset but increase durability exponentially.
Can I ride carbon wheels in the rain?
Our carbon rims have a very nice braking surface to them, and with our brake pads or yellow Swissstop brake pads, we have found braking performance to be very smooth. However, in the wet conditions you still need to apply braking pressure earlier to the braking surface in order to maintain optimal braking stability. If you are riding in the rain, please plan accordingly and leave extra distance for stopping.
Why are the wheels so inexpensive compared to other brands?
One of the goals at NovoFit is to provide people with the highest quality products at the best prices. Everyone should have access to top of the line equipment. When people see a $3000-10,000 set of wheels, some will wonder how much of that cost is due to sponsorship, huge advertising budgets, and different layers of distribution. At NovoFit we don't sponsor pro tour cycling teams, we don't place multiple full page advertisements in expensive cycling magazines, and the wheels are coming directly from us to you. This translates to getting high quality products for much less than what big name companies are charging.
Do the wheels come with Quick Release skewers?
Yes, standard skewers are included with the wheels but are not included in the listed weight of the wheels. Ti skewers can also be purchased separately.
note: Not included with Disc brake thru hole hubs
Is the Crash Replacement for real and is it really free?
Yes, we include a Crash Replacement policy with our wheels and frames. We know the cost of the sport if you crash and damage your equipment. Presently, we are offering a $300 discount towards the purchase of a new frame set. We also offer a $300 fee to replace a damaged rim. We want you to use our products, so we will do what we can to get you back on the road enjoying the sport again.
For any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Send us an email via the "Contact Info" tab. We will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. We love hearing from our customers and helping them pick out the perfect set of wheels for their needs.
